Ecuador

National Youth Policy


Within the government, the Ministry for Social Affairs coordinates the national youth policy of Ecuador together with other youth serving ministries. CEDC programme initiated by the government is a public policy plan for children and adolescents focused on the promotion of the rights of children and adolescents. A specific agendum under this programme is to address the main problem of children and adolescents child labor estimated approximately about 800,000 between the ages of 10-18 years of this 80% who do not attend school. About 29.5% of this category work for more than 41hours a week and 44.5% more than 30 hours a week. The Municipality of Tena donated a four-hectare plot for young people's project for the conservation of Amozonian resources, which is called "Amazon Park".
