Vision Office has had the goal of "empowering the user" through
training and support since its establishment in 1994. Vision Office
created its first websites (e.g., droodles.com) in 1996. In 1998,
Vision Office led a UN-sponsored team in researching and providing
training on electronic accessibility, and helped the UN Programme on
Persons with Disabilities define its accessibility policy directions.
Together with Associates for International Management Services, in
Syracuse, NY, Vision Office established the WorldEnable Consortium.
The consortium helped develop the Manila Accessible ICT Design
Recommendations with ICDRI in March 2003, which is currently
considered for inclusion in the development a UN International
Convention on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights and Dignity
of Persons with Disabilities. Vision Office is committed to developing
accessible web sites. Vision Office has been a valuable training
partner for many training organizations in Vancouver, BC, Canada. |

Leopoldo "Leo" Valdes is a specialist in end-user training
and support, and in ICT and web accessibility. Leo has held
production, teaching, Information Technology and project management
positions in three continents and in a variety of public, private and
international organizations. Leo is the managing director of Vision
Office Support Services Ltd. and a founding director of the
WorldEnable Consortium, an Internet Accessibility initiative of
experts from around the world. Leo has written and co-written several
papers on accessibility, and delivered several interregional
seminar/workshops on ICT accessibility. Leo is a Certified Computer
Professional (C.C.P.) and holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University in
BC, Canada. |
